Attending the campaign were comrade Tran Quang Tien – Party Committee Secretary, President of Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA); comrade Nguyen Thi Phuong – President of VWA’s Labor Union; Standing Committee Representatives of VWA’s Youth Union and a large number of officials, employees and students of the Academy.

Speaking at the campaign, comrade Tran Quang Tien has shared: The 3rd storm (typhoon Yagi) has caused great damage to people and property in many localities in the North, severely affecting people’s lives. Families who lost their homes and people who lost their livelihoods are in dire need of help from the community. Faced with such losses and damages, the Party Committee and Board of Directors of the Vietnam Women’s Academy have directed the Trade Union, Youth Union and units in the Academy to quickly compile statistics on the losses of families of officials, employees and students of the Academy to have timely support plans. Today’s support program is not only a way to provide financial support but also an extremely important spiritual encouragement, helping our people overcome this difficult period. With the spirit of solidarity and sharing, we hope that the campaign will receive enthusiastic response from officials, employees and students.

Immediately afterwards, with the sentiment and sharing with the people who were suffering from loss and damage due to the impact of the storm, each official, employee and student joined hands to carry out small but meaningful actions. Officials and employees of VWA donated at least 1 day’s salary to the support fund launched by the Labor Union of the Central Vietnam Women’s Union.

In addition, officials, lecturers and students of VWA are encouraged to participate in voluntary donations. This donation will be allocated to support families of VWA’s students who suffered great damage after the storm, families of officials and lecturers affected by storms and floods, as well as localities that suffered heavy damage.

In the campaign, comrade Nguyen Thi Phuong – President of VWA’s Labor Union shared: VWA’s Labor Union has compiled statistics and reviewed the impact of typhoon Yagi on families of civil servants and workers to have timely support plans. In addition, the Academy also reviewed the impact of the typhoon on families of VWA’s students  to support them. Today’s launching ceremony is an opportunity for members of the big VWA family to demonstrate their sense of social responsibility, accompanying the community in difficult times. In particular, the participation of students in this program is not only a material contribution but also an opportunity for them to experience and spread profound human values.

Student Doan Thi Luyen – Branch K11QTKDB of the Youth Union shared: My hometown in Chuong My dist., Hanoi is flooded due to the consequences of storm No. 3, which caused the dike to overflow. However, compared to the remote mountainous areas of Yen Bai, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong… these losses are still not as severe. I am very touched when the lecturers and the whole Academy have cared to support and share with us – students, as well as our compatriots in this difficult time. I hope these warm feelings will spread more to other students, each person sharing a breakfast, a cup of milk tea, of coffee… all have special meaning to our compatriots in the current critical situation. VWA youth, let’s spread the spirit of mutual love inside and outside the Academy, let’s share more to connect more!

Up to now, on the first morning of the campaign launched, VWA has raised nearly 160 million VND and the amount of donations are continuing to be updated every hour.

Vietnam Women’s Academy calls on officials, lecturers and students to continue sharing to alleviate the difficulties of people affected by storms and floods until September 13 so that these precious feelings can soon be delivered to people in difficulty, helping the community to quickly overcome the consequences and rebuild their lives after natural disasters.
