Attending the closing ceremony were Ms. LE Kim Anh, Member of the Presidium of Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), Member of the Municipal Committee, President of Hanoi Women’s Union; On the side of Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA), there were Assoc.Prof. Dr. TRAN Quang Tien – Secretary of the Party Committee, President of VWA, MA. HA Thi Thanh Van – Vice President of VWA, along with leaders, officials and employees of Officials Training Center, of Administrative Organization Department, of International Cooperation & Research Management Department, and of Information Technology Institute of the Academy.

In particular, attending the closing ceremony were 20 learners who are Vice Presidents of Women’s Union of Vientiane Capital, Presidents and Vice Presidents of the Women’s Union (WU) of departments, branches, political schools, and districts of Vientiane Capital, Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

The report summarizing the learning and living situation of the class during the 2-month period clearly stated that 20 learners had access to, researched, and exchanged general knowledge, professional work of the WU, as well as leadership, management, and work skills. In addition, learners also learned practical Vietnamese communication skills to serve their living in Vietnam. With the spirit of diligence, perseverance, and creativity, learners enthusiastically exchanged, discussed, and shared experiences with the lecturers.

In parallel with classroom teaching activities, VWA also organizes seminars, extracurricular learning sessions, and takes students to visit and study models of the WU at all levels to effectively implement the key programs of VWU. This is an opportunity for women to go to the grassroots level and test the knowledge in the lectures to be practically applied to the work of the WU. The visits and exchanges help women understand more about the country, people and women of Vietnam.

At the end of the course, students completed their final essays on the topics they learned such as: Building women to meet the demands of the new era; Supporting and enhancing women’s economic empowerment in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution; Special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos; Foreign affairs and international integration of the Vietnam Women’s Union; Building goals and visions for the organization and its leaders… Many articles have selected practical issues that are useful for work and clearly identify creative ways to apply them when returning home.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the course, Assoc.Prof. Dr. TRAN Quang Tien gave thanks to the attention and direction of the Central Committee of VWU and the coordination of Hanoi Women’s Union in organizing the class, welcomed the spirit of learners in overcoming all difficulties in language, living conditions, and weather to study and achieve good results. At the same time, he hoped that the students would continue to study the documents, flexibly and creatively apply knowledge in their work when returning home to contribute and better serve Lao Women’s Union (LWU) in particular and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in general. Comrade TRAN Quang Tien hoped for close coordination, creating better conditions between the Governments and ministries of the two countries to be able to organize the next courses with more effective activities, and also hoped that the students would be a bridge for the relationship between the WU of the two countries and the steadfast love between Vietnam and Laos. Finally, on behalf of the staff and lecturers of the Academy, Assoc.Prof. Dr. TRAN Quang Tien wished the delegation a safe journey back home and wished the learners more and more success in their work and life.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Comrade LE Kim Anh, President of Hanoi Women’s Union, emphasized: “The training course on women’s work for officials of the Vientiane Capital Women’s Union, organized from October 21, was successfully completed and closed on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of Laos’ National Day and the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Hanoi Capital. This is a clear demonstration of the special solidarity and close cooperation between the two countries, the two capitals and the Women’s Unions in supporting the training of officials.

Comrade LE Kim Anh expressed her joy at the enthusiastic support from the reporters and experts, and highly appreciated the learning efforts of the 20 trainees despite many difficulties in language, health and personal circumstances. The positive learning spirit of the trainees is the greatest success of this training course.

Representing 20 learners of Lao Women’s Union Cadre training course, Ms. Vylayphone KEOPHOSAY – Vice President of Women’s Union of Vientiane Capital, Lao PDR, expressed her pride and excitement when receiving the certificate of completion of the training course, gave thanks to the leaders of Vietnam and Laos, ministries and branches, especially VWU and VWA for creating favorable conditions. During the course of study, the students focused on acquiring valuable knowledge and experience imparted by the lecturers, and committed to applying the knowledge, experience in women’s work and leadership skills they had learned to work at ministries and branches depending on the actual situation. At the same time, she hoped that VWU and VWA would continue to open more training courses for Lao women cadres in the future on a larger scale, wishing the Vietnam – Laos solidarity to be increasingly strong.

After nearly two months of studying in Hanoi, 20 trainees who are officials of the Women’s Union of Vientiane Capital have completed a training program with 23 topics combining theory and practice. The learning content focuses on women’s work, gender equality, WU work skills, and practical activities in the model of building new rural areas and civilized urban areas. The delegation also visited historical and cultural relics, scenic spots and traditional craft villages of Hanoi in particular and of Vietnam in general. The knowledge and experience gained from the course not only enriches their work but also leaves good impressions and unforgettable memories, becoming a valuable source of inspiration for the work of the WU officials when they return to Vientiane Capital.
