Attending the opening ceremony, representatives of the Hanoi Party Committee included comrade DO Anh Diep, Deputy Head of Department of Organization and Personnel – Internal Political Protection, Hanoi Party Committee Organization Board; representatives of Hanoi Women’s Union included comrade PHAM Thi Thanh Huong, Member of the Central Executive Committee of Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU), Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi Women’s Union. On the side of Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA), there was the participation of Assoc.Prof. Dr. TRAN Quang Tien – Party Committee Secretary, President of VWA, along with leaders and cadres of Officials Training Center, of Administrative Organization Department, of International Cooperation & Research Management Department, and of Information Technology Institute of the Academy.
In particular, VWA warmly welcomed the presence of 20 learners who are Vice Presidents of the Women’s Union (WU) of Vientiane Capital, Presidents and Vice Presidents of the WU of departments, branches, political schools, and districts of Vientiane Capital, Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the course, Comrade TRAN Quang Tien affirmed that it is the honor of the Academy to continue implementing the direction of the Presidium of VWU to deploy training activities for Lao Women’s Union (LWU) officials according to the Bilateral Cooperation Agreement between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, contributing to preserving and fostering the traditional friendship and special solidarity between the people and women of the two countries. At the same time, he informed about the basic contents that will be implemented in the course on knowledge and skills of the WU’s work and visited actual operating models in a number of ministries, branches and localities. He pledged that VWA will create all conditions for the class to be successful. Comrade TRAN Quang Tien believes that with extensive experience in WU activities at ministries and branches, members of the Lao Women’s Union delegation will also actively exchange information and interact with reporters and experts on each specific topic.
In her welcoming speech to the trainees, Comrade PHAM Thi Thanh Huong, Member of the Central Executive Committee of VWA, Permanent Vice President of Hanoi Women’s Union affirmed the steadfast friendship between Vietnam and Laos. She expressed her gratitude to the Party and State of Vietnam and Laos for always paying attention to promoting gender equality and supporting women’s development. Comrade PHAM Thi Thanh Huong also thanked the Academy for always enthusiastically and responsibly coordinating with Hanoi Women’s Union to successfully organize training courses for Lao women cadres. She pledged to closely coordinate in the process of organizing the class and wished the course a great success, contributing to strengthening the close neighborly relationship between Vietnam and Laos, forever green and sustainable.
Representing 20 learners of the Lao Women’s Cadre Training Course, Comrade Vilayphone KEOPHOXAY – Vice President of Vientiane Capital Women’s Union gave a speech. She sincerely thanked the Government, Ministries, departments and branches, especially VWU and the Lao Women’s Union for creating conditions for the learners of the training course to come to the beautiful country of Vietnam to improve their knowledge. She affirmed that the whole group will try to study not only to accumulate knowledge and experience but also to respond to the precious feelings that the people and country of Vietnam have offered the Lao people.
The training course for LWU officials will take place over a period of 2 months at VWA with a full-course program agreed upon between the two WU organizations, invested in and built to inherit the programs of previous years, updating new issues, enhancing discussion and practical research. The study program is highly practical and application-oriented with many content exchange activities between the two countries, practical research activities on the WU’s work, women’s movements as well as activities of organizations and enterprises. The training course is taught by WU leaders, experts from many ministries, branches and educational institutions.
It is hoped that with the dedicated and responsible sharing of the lecturers and the active participation of the trainees, after the training course, the trainees of the LWU Cadre Training Course will have more knowledge and skills in propaganda, mobilization, guidance, and support for women to develop comprehensively in terms of physical strength, knowledge, skills, behavior, and political and social awareness, promoting women’s active participation, dedication of effort and intelligence in social work, equality, and contribution to many areas of social and family life in Laos. At the same time, VWU and VWA will also learn from the experiences of the WU’s activities in the Lao Ministries and Branches to absorb and supplement the training program to suit the actual activities of the Women’s Union in Laos.
