Speaking at the opening ceremony of the course, Assoc.Prof. Dr. DUONG Kim Anh – Vice President of Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA) spoke and emphasized the importance of improving English skills, especially communication skills. In the era of globalization, English is no longer just an international language of communication but also the key to opening up many opportunities for personal and professional development: “English is a bridge language, helping teachers not only access advanced knowledge sources but also creating favorable conditions for cooperation, exchange and development of international projects. Improving English skills, especially communication skills, not only helps each individual maximize their potential but also contributes to the overall development of the Academy,” Assoc.Prof. Dr. DUONG Kim Anh shared.

The Vice President also encouraged lecturers, researchers and officials to participate in the class with a proactive and positive spirit, considering this an opportunity to improve themselves and continuously improve their foreign language skills. Especially, in the context of Vietnam’s increasingly deep integration into international organizations, using English fluently will help officials and cadres access more opportunities for cooperation and career development.

This English training program is specially designed to focus on improving communication skills. The course not only equips students with basic knowledge of English but also focuses on practical skills, helping them to communicate confidently and effectively in an international environment. This is especially important for lecturers and researchers of VWA, who often have to work with international partners, participate in seminars, write scientific articles and conduct in-depth research in English.

Comrade LE Hong Viet shared: “In research work, we often have to access international research documents and reports, most of which are in English. Improving my English ability not only helps me understand the documents better, but also helps me be more confident when participating in international conferences.”

Organizing this training course is part of VWA’s long-term strategy to improve the English proficiency of its staff and lecturers. In the context of increasingly deep international integration, English has become the main language in many international research and cooperation activities. Therefore, having good English communication skills not only helps officials and lecturers become more confident in their work but also opens up opportunities to participate in international cooperation projects, enhancing the Academy’s reputation in the international arena.

The English proficiency training course for lecturers, researchers and officials of VWA is a practical activity, demonstrating the Academy’s interest in improving the quality of human resources and meeting the increasing demands of the international integration environment. After 3 months of study and training, it is certain that the students will have remarkable progress in English communication skills, contributing significantly to their personal development as well as their teaching and research careers at the Academy.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the class began with the instruction of lecturer Jackie Lou Benito TAYABAN, a volunteer working at VWA with many years of experience teaching English courses and soft skills to students, along with working skills to Vietnam Women’s Union cadres at all levels.
