Working session at Jissen Women’s University

On August 1, 2024, the delegation of the Vietnam Women’s Academy visited and worked with Jissen Women’s University. Established in 1899, Jissen Women’s University is one of the prestigious and long-standing women’s universities in Japan. Currently, the school has more than 5,000 undergraduate students and 1,000 high school students studying in more than 10 different majors. Every year, the school also welcomes many short-term and long-term exchange students from countries in the region and around the world to study.

Jissen Women’s University is not only famous for its tradition reflected in its long history of development but also for its modern, well-invested facilities. The lecture halls, meeting rooms, canteens, libraries, and study and relaxation spaces of the school are all meticulously designed and equipped with modern facilities, creating favorable conditions for students and lecturers to have effective study and work time.

During the meeting, Comrade TON Ngoc Hanh and representatives of Jissen Women’s University discussed future cooperation opportunities, especially the exchange of lecturers and students between the two schools. Comrade Hanh expressed her hope that in the coming time, lecturers and students of Vietnam Women’s Academy will have more opportunities to learn and exchange experiences with Jissen Women’s University. Both sides agreed that expanding educational cooperation between the two schools will contribute positively to improving the quality of training, especially in the field of female human resource development.

Visiting and working with Showa Women’s University

On August 2, a delegation from Vietnam Women’s Academy visited and worked with Showa Women’s University, a school with an impressive history of development with more than 100 years of operation. Currently, the school has about 6,000 undergraduate students and 150 graduate students, along with 150 international students from many different countries.

Welcoming the delegation from the Vietnam Women’s Academy were Ms. Ogawa Mutsumi – Vice President of the school, along with other school officials such as Mr. Hanaoka Iwao – Member of the School Council, and Ms. Kondoh Aya – Director of the Japanese Language Education Center. Representatives of Showa Women’s University expressed a warm welcome and shared about the achievements the school has made in educating and training women.

Showa Women’s University is proud of its motto of creating a globalized educational environment where students from many countries can exchange knowledge and experience. For 12 consecutive years, the school has been recognized as one of the top women’s universities in Japan in terms of the rate of students finding jobs after graduation. With similar missions and development goals, comrade TON Ngoc Hanh and members of the delegation expressed their impression of these achievements and hoped that in the future, Vietnam Women’s Academy and Showa Women’s University will have more opportunities for cooperation, especially in student and faculty exchanges, as well as joint research activities.

The delegation’s visiting and working with Ochanomizu University

On August 3, a delegation from the Vietnam Women’s Academy visited and worked with Ochanomizu University, one of the oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions in Japan, especially in the field of women’s education. Established in 1875, Ochanomizu University is proud to be the first university for women in Japan and has trained many generations of famous female leaders in the country.

Welcoming the delegation, Ms. Ishii-Kuntz Masako – Vice President of the school and staff of the Global Education Department had in-depth discussions on the history of development and strategic orientations of the school in the future. In particular, in 2025, the school will celebrate its 150th anniversary, marking a long and proud journey in developing and improving the quality of education for women in Japan.

Comrade Ton Ngoc Hanh and members of the delegation also shared more about the development history, mission, and vision of Vietnam Women’s Academy as well as the practical activities of the Academy in training, fostering, researching and cooperating to promote the development of high-quality human resources to meet the needs of the social community, especially the contributions to improving the quality of training female human resources, contributing to realizing the goal of promoting gender equality for a civilized and progressive society.

The working session brought good results when the two sides are expected to sign a 5-year Memorandum of Understanding in the third quarter of this year, opening up many opportunities for cooperation in academic and research exchanges between lecturers, researchers, and students of the two schools.

The visit and working session of the Vietnam Women’s Academy delegation at universities in Tokyo was a great success, opening up many opportunities for cooperation in the fields of education and research. This cooperation not only contributes to improving the quality of training and developing female human resources in Vietnam but also strengthens the friendly and cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Japan. The achievements from this visit will be an important premise for Vietnam Women’s Academy to continue to develop and expand, affirming its prestige and position on the journey of international integration.
