Sustainable development has become a global objective, with strong commitments from nations, organizations, and the international community. One of the key pillars to realize this goal is ensuring gender equality—not only as a standalone target but also as a cross-cutting driver that promotes sustainable economic, social, and environmental progress.

This Conference is not only an annual academic event but also a meaningful effort to establish a regional scientific dialogue space—where researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and entrepreneurs jointly explore the role of women in Asia’s sustainable development landscape. Through the exchange and sharing of research, theoretical models, and practical experiences, the Conference seeks to generate specific, feasible, and impactful policy recommendations.

The Conference will be held in a hybrid format, combining in-person sessions at the Vietnam Women’s Academy (No. 68 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street, Hanoi) and online participation, to expand access and foster connections among scholars in the region and globally.

Key Themes of the Conference

The Conference will focus on the three main pillars of sustainable development: economic – social – environmental, with gender and women’s issues as a continuous thread. Each pillar will highlight both urgent issues and opportunities to reaffirm the growing and active role of women in all areas of life.

✨ In the economic pillar, contributions may focus on women’s participation in the digital economy, green finance, entrepreneurship, innovation, digital transformation, and the circular economy—areas that pose new challenges yet also present great potential for women to assert their capabilities.

✨ In the social pillar, the Conference welcomes studies analyzing women’s roles in poverty reduction, education, healthcare, political participation, income equality, and mental health care. New perspectives on women in science, STEM, and cultural heritage preservation will also be important contributions.

✨ Regarding environmental sustainability, the Conference seeks research on women’s roles in responding to climate change, protecting natural resources, waste collection and treatment, and promoting sustainable consumption—areas where women are increasingly taking proactive and creative roles.
