Vietnam Women’s Academy in 2025: Creating Sustainable Value, Advancing Knowledge, and Serving Society
The year 2025 marked an important milestone in the development of the Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA), characterized by steady institutional growth, strengthened academic capacity, and an expanding social impact. In the context of higher education reforms driven by digital transformation, international integration, and the pursuit of sustainable development, the Academy demonstrated resilience, effective governance, and a clear commitment to its core mission of education, research, and community service. Throughout the year, VWA implemented 114 professional activities across 11 thematic areas, supported by a workforce of 272 officials and employees and serving more than 7,000 learners. With 2,252 newly enrolled students, 451 scientific outputs, and nearly 15,000 beneficiaries of community-based initiatives, the Academy maintained a balanced trajectory between institutional scale and academic quality. A key highlight of 2025 was the Academy’s increasingly systematic and data-driven approach to governance. Planning and implementation were closely aligned with strategic objectives, with extensive use of digital management tools. Over 60% of planned activities were developed in detailed formats, and nearly 90% of action plans were formally approved. More than half of these plans were completed within the year, reflecting strong organizational discipline and accountability. The Academy’s leadership also managed a high volume of administrative coordination, ensuring continuity and efficiency across the institutional system.
Organizational consolidation and human resource development remained central priorities. Structural adjustments were undertaken to streamline operations and enhance professional focus, while appointment and reappointment processes were conducted transparently to ensure continuity and renewal in leadership. By the end of 2025, more than 28% of staff held doctoral degrees, including 10 associate professors, underscoring the Academy’s sustained investment in academic excellence and research capacity. Recruitment of new staff further strengthened institutional vitality and innovation. Education and training continued to serve as the Academy’s core mission. Enrollment outcomes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels remained stable, and over 75% of graduates completed their programs on time, indicating improvements in academic management and teaching quality. In parallel, the Academy sustained its early childhood education model, reinforcing its commitment to comprehensive education and social responsibility. Beyond degree programs, VWA expanded its role in capacity building through 21 short-term training courses for women leaders, Women’s Union officials, and other target groups, including international participants from Laos. These activities reinforced the Academy’s position as a regional hub for leadership development and gender-responsive capacity building. Scientific research emerged as a dynamic driver of institutional depth in 2025. The Academy implemented 64 research projects at various levels, organized national and international conferences, and published a substantial volume of academic outputs. Its Scientific Journal continued to function as a reputable forum for scholarship on women, gender equality, and contemporary social issues. As 2025 concluded, the Academy’s achievements extended beyond quantitative indicators to encompass enduring values: academic quality grounded in standardization and innovation, research closely linked to social realities, and a strong ethos of community service. Building on these foundations, the Vietnam Women’s Academy enters 2026 with confidence and strategic clarity, reaffirming its role as a leading institution in education, research, and policy-oriented scholarship on women, gender equality, and sustainable social development. |
