On 14 January 2026, the Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA) convened the Appraisal Council for the Bachelor’s Program in Economics taught in English. This event marked an important milestone in VWA’s roadmap toward the internationalization of academic programs, aiming to meet the growing demand for high-quality human resources in economics in the context of international integration, digital transformation, and sustainable development.

The appraisal session brought together scholars, lecturers, and experts with extensive experience in the field of Economics from reputable universities and enterprises. Distinguished members of the Council included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quang Tien, President of the Vietnam Women’s Academy; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan The Cong from the Faculty of Economics, Thuong Mai University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen An Thinh, Head of the Faculty of Development Economics, University of Economics, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; and Dr. Nguyen Nam Hai from the Faculty of Business Administration, Vietnam Women’s Academy. The Council also included Mr. Nguyen Tu Trung, M.A., General Director of UHY Auditing and Consulting Co., Ltd., representing the business sector. The participation of industry representatives contributed to strengthening the program’s practical relevance and applicability, while reflecting VWA’s strong commitment to linking higher education with labor market needs in an internationally oriented training model.

Dr. Lê Văn Sơn, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Finance, delivered an overview of the Bachelor’s program in Economics taught in English.

Representing the program development team, Dr. Le Van Son, Acting Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Finance, presented an overview of the curriculum, including its objectives, learning outcomes, program structure, course content, and internship orientation. The Appraisal Council conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the program in terms of academic rigor, currency and relevance, practicality, feasibility of implementation, and alignment with labor market demands.

The Council acknowledged the quality and seriousness of the program design and offered constructive recommendations for further improvement, with the aim of supporting students in developing comprehensive competencies to work effectively in international environments. At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council unanimously agreed that the Bachelor’s Program in Economics taught in English at the Vietnam Women’s Academy meets the conditions for implementation, subject to revisions and refinements based on the Council’s feedback. The program is developed in accordance with modern educational standards and benchmarked against reputable economics programs both domestically and internationally.

Implemented by the Faculty of Economics and Finance, the program is designed with an application-oriented approach that closely integrates disciplinary knowledge with labor market requirements. Students are equipped with foundational and advanced knowledge in economics, finance, investment, international economics, logistics, and global business, while studying entirely in English to enhance professional language competence and international employability. Modern teaching and learning methods are emphasized, particularly case-based learning and problem-solving using real-world situations.

An Australian volunteer, serving as an international expert, shared expertise and worked directly with the Faculty of Economics and Finance at the VWA.

The training process involves the participation of international experts, lecturers, and volunteers, along with close collaboration with enterprises in teaching, internships, and career guidance. With an expected English proficiency equivalent to B2 level (CEFR), graduates are well prepared to work in bilingual Vietnamese – English environments, pursue further studies, or enter domestic and international labor markets.

Through this program, the Vietnam Women’s Academy aims to train high-quality economics graduates with solid expertise, strong international integration capacity, and a sense of social responsibility, contributing to sustainable economic development and expanded career opportunities for students.
