1. Remarkable highlights in the development journey

Education and training: Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA) offers 12 undergraduate, 04 master and 02 doctor programs, emphasizing specific majors such as Gender and Development and Social Work. The employment rate of students after graduation is over 80%, contributing to affirming the prestige of the Academy in the national higher education system. The Academy has completed external evaluation of educational institutions since 2020. By the end of 2024, VWA has completed external evaluation of 6/11 undergraduate training programs. According to the ranking results of Vietnamese universities by the evaluation expert group of Hanoi National University, in 2023, VWA reached 58th place out of nearly 200 ranked schools, up 31 places compared to 2022.

Cadre training: Nearly 48,000 female cadres have been trained, including ones from Laos and Cambodia. The application of technology in teaching has helped optimize training quality and time.

Science and technology: Hundreds of research topics have contributed to solving urgent social problems, promoting gender equality and social progress.

2. Strategic orientation of the Party and of General Secretary TO Lam

In the special topic on the new era – the era of national rise on October 31, General Secretary TO Lam discussed 7 strategic orientations to bring the country into a new era – the era of national rise, including:

  • Creative innovation, taking science and technology as the driving force for economic and social development.
  • Comprehensive digital transformation, strongly applying in the fields of economics, society, education and state management.
  • Development of high quality human resources, meeting the requirements of the fourth (4.0) industrial revolution and international integration.
  • Protection and promotion of national cultural values, closely linking to sustainable economic development.
  • Assurance of security and national defense, maintaining political stability and national sovereignty.
  • Promotion of gender equality, strengthening the role of women in economic, social and political development.
  • Building a strong and effective political system, improving the capacity of the Party leadership and the State management.

These orientations become the guiding principles for the Party Committee of Vietnam Women’s Academy to build a vision and development strategy in the coming time.

3. Determination of VWA’s Party Committee

VWA’s Party Committee has concretized the Party’s orientation with clear goals and commitments:

Implementing comprehensive digital transformation: By 2027, VWA will complete the second phase of the digital transformation project, applying artificial intelligence in teaching and research.

Improving education quality: The training scale will reach 10,000 students by 2030, with 20 bachelor programs, 10 master programs and 05 doctor programs.

Building a team of dedicated, professional, and internationally integrated lecturers: By 2030, 50% of lecturers will have a doctorate degree, 15% will have the title of Associate Professor or Professor; increase international lecturers and the ability to teach in English.

Affirming the role in scientific research: By 2045, VWA aims to be among the top 1,500+ universities in the world, with 50% of its majors in the top 30 domestically, making a clear mark in the field of research that promotes gender equality and social progress.

4. Roles and responsibilities of Party members in the development of VWA

Each party member in VWA’s Party Committee plays an important role in realizing the strategic goals:

  • Leading by examples: Demonstrate responsibility to set an example in teaching, research and community service, creating motivation for all VWA’s officials, lecturers and students.
  • Being proactive in creativity innovation: Actively participating in innovation programs, applying digital technology in management and training.
  • Promote the spirit of solidarity: Building a professional working environment, unanimously aiming towards common goals, and connecting units within the Academy.
  • Promoting international cooperation: Play a bridging role in expanding cooperation with international organizations and universities, enhancing the position of the Academy in the international arena.
