An overview and comparison of VNUR’s rankings between years shows that: Hanoi National University and Ho Chi Minh City National University continue to hold the top two positions for three consecutive years; Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) rises to 3rd place, surpassing 4th place in 2024; University of Economics HCMC (UEH) moves up to 4th place from 6th place last year. HUST is in the top 10 for the first time. 

The 2025 rankings also show other notable changes including:

👉 Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA) is one of 40 schools in the top 100 VNUR-2024 that continues to rise in the VNUR-2025 table with an increase of 1 to 30 places.

👉 54 universities were downgraded from 1 to 54 places.

👉 10 universities entered the top 100 of VNUR-2025 for the first time, in which the university with the biggest increase from position 118 to position 57.

👉 10 universities in the top 100 VNUR-2024 were eliminated from the 2025 list, mostly at the bottom of the rankings.

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) continue to be the highlights with a large number of schools ranked high. The number of public universities accounts for 83% of the top 100, while private universities account for 17%.

VWA has risen from 58th (2024) to 52nd in VNUR-2025, demonstrating its outstanding efforts in improving the quality of education, scientific research and facilities.

💙 Training quality: VWA has implemented many breakthrough training programs, combining theory and practice, meeting the needs of society and the labor market.

💙 Scientific research: The teaching staff has published 350 scientific products in 2023-2024, including dozens of international publications, contributing to enhancing the position of the Academy.

💙 Teaching staff: With nearly 250 cadres, including 8 Assoc.Prof.s and more than 60 PhD.s, the Academy has built a strong, dedicated and experienced teaching staff.

💙 Facilities: VWA is constantly upgrading its equipment and building modern facilities, including the groundbreaking of the Gia Lam campus expansion and the Ministry of Education and Training’s approval to establish a campus in Ho Chi Minh City on December 31, 2024.

The VNUR rankings not only reflect the development of higher education institutions, but also serve as an important driving force to promote healthy competition and improve the quality of education.
