The meeting was attended by Assoc.Prof. Dr. TRAN Quang Tien – President of Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA), leaders of Economics & Finance Faculty, Officials Training Center, Multimedia Communication Department, as well as many students. Representatives of DSIK included Mr. Christian GRAJEK – Regional Coordinator for Southeast Asia and Ms. Anna SZALWICKI – Deputy Regional Coordinator and representatives of several units of Sparkasse – Germany.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Christian GRAJEK introduced DSIK’s mission in promoting microfinance and sustainable finance in many countries, especially in Southeast Asia. With a large network of cooperation, DSIK has implemented many programs to help raise awareness about savings, personal finance and business for the community.
Assoc.Prof. Dr. TRAN Quang Tien shared about the sustainable cooperation relationship between VWA and DSIK since 2015. During the period of 2015 – 2022, the two sides organized 37 microfinance training courses with more than 1,200 students, 30 financial education courses for students, along with many activities such as the drawing contest on savings, the talk show Saving today – Happiness tomorrow and personal finance forums. These activities not only help students improve their financial knowledge but also form sustainable financial thinking.
Entering the 2023-2027 period, the cooperation between the two sides continues to expand with new programs such as the Green Savings – Digital Savings competition, sustainable finance research seminars, student camps and digital finance training courses.
Key contents of the cooperation agreement between VWA and DSIK
At the meeting, the two sides also discussed more clearly about the cooperation plan in the coming years with specific goals:
- Develop online courses on digital finance
- Organize talk shows on Green Finance & Healthy Living
- Expand Green Finance, Digital Finance bookstore (phase 2)
- Compile & publish digital finance textbooks for students
- Organize digital finance training courses
- Launch creative competitions on personal finance
- Design check-in spaces on green finance, digital finance for students
These contents not only help students develop smart financial thinking but also contribute to spreading the spirit of saving and sustainable financial development in the community.
At the event, many questions from students and lecturers of VWA were sent to DSIK representatives about opportunities to participate in financial training programs, financial support policies for students and career orientation in the field of microfinance.
Particularly, Sparkasse representatives shared about financial savings models that are being successfully implemented in Europe, thereby suggesting many prospects for cooperation between the Academy and international financial institutions in the future.
The meeting not only strengthened the sustainable cooperative relationship between VWA and DSIK but also opened up new cooperation prospects with other partners in the Sparkasse system. With long-term cooperation plans until 2027, the Academy’s students will have more opportunities to access modern financial knowledge, participate in practical activities and prepare solidly for the future.
