The training course is not only an opportunity for officials and representatives of relevant organizations to improve their knowledge, but also opens up prospects for cooperation and breakthrough policy development, meeting the practical needs of disadvantaged groups in society.
The training course regarding Gender Equality & Disability Inclusion is organized to consolidate the knowledge and efforts of partners in implementing gender equality and disability inclusion. Through the program, delegates will work together to identify the remaining barriers in accessing services and implementing the rights of migrants, people of other genders and people with disabilities. These are closely related issues, directly affecting their quality of life and social integration.
The training program also plays an important role in improving the professional capacity of officials from Department of Labor – Invalids and Social Affairs, Association for the Disabled, Vietnam Women’s Union, and especially lecturers from Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA). The specialized lectures on gender equality and disability inclusion are expected to provide updated knowledge and practical solutions to change discriminatory norms towards people with disabilities.
The training program lasts 2.5 days at Hall 305, Building A2, VWA, Hanoi. The sessions revolve around three main contents: Disability Inclusion, Gender Equality, and Migration Integration & Gender Diversity. With the participation of experts and representatives from various organizations, the course will provide new perspectives on how to integrate gender and disability factors into public policies.
The main lecturer of the training course is Ms. Jacqueline Ann POLLOCK, an international expert on gender equality and disability inclusion. With the support of Dr. Thi Thu Hien TRAN – Deputy Head of Gender & Development Faculty and M.A. Nguyen Hoang Anh – Deputy Rector of Women’s Studies Institute, VWA.
Ms. Jacqueline Ann will share in-depth lectures on current issues and successful models from many different countries with the aim of raising awareness of gender equality and disability inclusion. These contents promise to be not only highly academic but also very practical, helping learners easily apply them to work and life.
The training course does not only stop at imparting knowledge but also provides an opportunity for delegates to connect and share experiences, thereby forming a sustainable cooperation network. Expanding cooperation between domestic and foreign organizations, along with support from international organizations such as the International Labour Organization (ILO) Office in Vietnam, promises to bring great strides in promoting gender equality and disability inclusion in Vietnam.
