In ethnic minority areas of Vietnam, gender stereotypes in career and employment choices are still very common. Many young people, especially women, are often constrained by traditional gender concepts, leading to them not daring to choose the careers they love. In addition, men in ethnic minority communities are often pressured to do heavy and traditional jobs, even though they may wish to do other jobs that suit their abilities and passions.

The project “Career Equity – Lighting the Future” was built to raise awareness of gender equality in career choices for ethnic minority youth, helping them freely pursue their dreams and develop themselves comprehensively.

  • Developing online career courses: Developing a series of online career courses in diverse fields, from digital, business, management to art, helping ethnic minority youth discover and develop their strengths.
  • Creating a communication campaign about gender equality in careers: Using social media and communication channels to convey the message of freedom of career choices regardless of gender.
  • Organizing career seminars: Invite experts and successful youths from ethnic minorities to share their experiences, encouraging youngsters to boldly pursue their passions in career. The project “Career Equity – Enlighten the Future” hopes to contribute to creating an equal and diverse career environment for ethnic minority youth, helping them confidently and freely pursue their career dreams.

This communication campaign to promote gender equality is not only a creative playground connecting ethnic minority youth, but also an opportunity for youngsters to affirm their role in eliminating gender stereotypes, contributing to building a developed and prosperous ethnic minority community. This is also a vivid proof that VWA is constantly striving to accompany ethnic minority youth in the journey of changing awareness and action for an equal and progressive society.
