This year’s Sports Day attracts all students from 11 different majors and Youth Union members of the staff and lecturers’ union branches with many exciting competitions waiting to be held. The branches will compete in four main competitions: Badminton, Tug of War, Relay – Obstacle Course.
In particular, badminton promises to be the focus with dramatic competitions between the best players from the qualifying round. The qualifying matches of badminton have taken place since the beginning of March, creating a vibrant and intense competitive atmosphere right from the first days of launching. The men’s singles and women’s singles events have attracted the participation of many potential athletes. The matches will take place in a knockout format according to each pair that has been divided in advance by drawing lots.
In addition, tug of war is always the most anticipated competition because of the high team spirit and the bustling cheering atmosphere. The teams compete in a knockout format, requiring good coordination, reasonable tactics and determination. The qualifying rounds have witnessed many spectacular comebacks, promising an extremely exciting final.
Finally, the game relay – obstacle course is a challenging but equally interesting content. Players must complete many challenges in turn: Sack jumping – Passing rubber bands with heads – Giving balls wearing the Youth Union shirt – Smashing clay pots. Each round has one player participating. Players will pass the stick through each round to the last player. Any team that fails to pass any round, or drops the stick on the ground during the passing process, the next player must start over. The team that passes all the rounds in the shortest time will win, requiring agility, dexterity and team spirit. This is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their comprehensive mobility and collective strength.
The Sports Day is not only a place for students to test their strength and compete, but also a festival to connect youth union members of the entire Academy, an opportunity to exchange and connect between faculties and departments. According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. DUONG Kim Anh – Vice President of Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA), this year’s Sports Day is not only an opportunity for youth union members to show their youthfulness and solidarity, but also a festival to exchange and connect between a large number of students, lecturers and cadres of the Academy with the most enthusiastic support: “We hope that through the sports festival, students will not only raise their awareness of physical training but also have many memorable memories in their student life.”
Comrade NGUYEN Hoang Phuong – Secretary of VWA’s Youth Union emphasized: “The sports festival is a key activity during Youth Month, helping students have an environment to play, practice and promote team spirit. We hope that you will compete to your fullest, demonstrate the noble spirit of sportsmanship and together create a meaningful festival.”
Not only athletes participate in the competition, this year’s sports festival also encourages students to cheer enthusiastically to motivate the competing teams. With careful preparation from the Organizing Committee and the readiness of the teams, the 2025 Vietnam Women’s Academy Youth Sports Festival promises to be an event worth looking forward to, contributing to a meaningful Youth Month.
Let’s count down to March 22 and get ready to explode with the 2025 Youth Sports Day!
