The 2024-2027 cooperation program focuses on providing financial knowledge and skills to students of Vietnam Women’s Academy (VWA) through training courses, seminars, and practical programs. In particular, through the Green Savings – Digital Savings event series, the goal is to encourage students to not only learn how to manage their personal finances effectively, but also gain a deep understanding of green lifestyles in the digital age.

The cooperation agreement between the two parties aims to:

💚 Enhance students’ knowledge, skills, and understanding regarding financial and business.

💚 Contribute to building and developing a financial education network to promote financial inclusion among Vietnamese and international universities/training institutions.

💚 Promoting a financial, institutional and environmental sustainability transformation of (micro)finance institutions pursuing sustainability goals, and the institutional sustainability of (micro)finance institutions at the sector level.

Specifically, the agreement will be jointly implemented by the two parties through the following activities:

💚 Ensure basic financial knowledge for students;

💚 Integrate Sustainable Financial Education into Student Curriculums, Establishing Foundational Knowledge;

💚 Improve students’ business and entrepreneurship skills.

In addition, to enhance and expand the scope of cooperation, VWA can integrate Digital Finance into the curriculum, which helps expand awareness of financial products in both the training programs at VWA and other affiliated programs.

Ms. Alexandra WESTWOOD – Attaché of the German Embassy in Vietnam, Ms. TRAN Thi Minh Huong – Deputy Head of the International Department, Central Vietnam Women’s Union, Ms. Anna SZALWICKI, Deputy Coordinator of DSIK Southeast Asia, Assoc.Prof. Dr. TRAN Quang Tien – President of Vietnam Women’s Academy touched the ball to affirm sustainable cooperation and launch a series of events in 2024 with the theme “Green savings – Digital savings”

To realize the cooperation terms, VWA and German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation (DSIK) organized the following events:

The online contest Green Savings – Digital Savings attracted the participation of many students of all courses. The contest received 40 entries, of which 10 were voted the highest via social networks and entered the final round. Many unique, novel and feasible ideas were proposed by students to save electricity, water, protect the environment and increase efficiency, convenience, and energy savings when using digital financial applications and tools to manage expenses, minimize waste and optimize resources. This saving not only brings personal economic benefits but also contributes to global environmental protection.

There was an event called Green Savings Bicycle Parade – aiming to spread awareness of environmental protection and green living on November 10, 2024, with the participation of Miss Ngoc Han, along with representatives of DSIK and representatives of the Board of Management and the students of VWA. At the event, the parade spread the message of environmental protection and green living, living frugally to protect the earth on the streets. Delegates and students pledged to continue to practice a frugal lifestyle, protecting the environment not only in the parade but also in daily activities.

The Green Savings – Digital Savings Camp was held on November 22, 2024 at VWA. This is also one of the key activities in a series of events to raise awareness of green living, frugal living and personal financial management in the student community. The camp does not stop at just one day of the festival, but is also a profound message to the student community about the sense of responsibility in saving money and protecting the environment, spreading the green lifestyle, frugal living to the community through specific activities. Through each activity, students of the Academy not only learn but also demonstrate their courage and solidarity, contributing to building the image of a dynamic, creative and socially responsible young generation.

Also within the framework of cooperation in 2024, VWA is coordinating to build a reading space with the theme: Green Finance – Digital Finance – Personal Finance, promising to bring students interesting and meaningful experiences.

The series of events Green Savings – Digital Savings was a special highlight in 2024, with the goal of not only conveying the message of saving in personal finance but also spreading the spirit of saving for the environment. In the face of climate change that is seriously affecting daily life, adopting a green lifestyle has become an urgent requirement. Not only helping to change healthy eating habits, classifying waste, or buying environmentally friendly products, saving in personal finance also contributes to creating a more sustainable life.
